More Firesign promotional doings.
Hi everyone. I’ve got a few pieces in the pipe — on Allen Ginsberg’s 1965, on the phenomenon of the comedy rock single (with maximum Cheech and Chong), an opening salvo on the Pynchon-Firesign Theatre connection. But for now I’m posting a few recent interviews that I’ve done for Firesign: The Electromagnetic History of Everything.
Last week I was on KBOO-FM in Portland, Oregon talking about the book with Firesign’s David Ossman. This was a wide-ranging interview and it was great to have a chance to talk with David after the book came out. The full interview is posted above, and a slightly shorter version is on KBOO’s website.
Firesign was also featured on the Arts Express program (and podcast) on WBAI-FM, New York City’s legendary Pacifica station. You can listen to that here.
A while back, I was joined by Firesign’s Phil Proctor on KSQD-FM in Santa Cruz, listening to and discussing some classic as well as rare clips. The link to that is here.
Thanks to everyone who came out to see David Suisman and me at People’s Book in Takoma Park, and to the people who came out to hear me at Colgate University (a great crowd ranging from old heads to the kids running the great student-run WRCU-FM).
More material, of a less self-promotional nature, follows soon.
