Hi! Does the hardcover version come with a jacket?

Hi, Rod. The hardcover is the newfangled "library binding" that uses a glossy version of the cover on the boards (i.e. no cloth + jacket binding). I admit I was disappointed about that (virtually my only complaint about U of California Press, who have been great). But I also found that it bugged me less than I thought it would when I saw it. And it is slightly easier to hold in the hand than the PB. Either way, you get Phil Proctor's hilarious fried egg lunar module collage!

OK, I'm not only enjoying the book immensely ("in a big way" - Websters), but this great idea of making the hardcover look soft is rather wonderful! It provides the best of all worlds (too many to count) - a seamless blend of here and there, folded into the now! Thanks a bunch for all the appealing bananas!

Very glad to hear you're digging it, Rod! And I agree that the hardsoftcover is nice. If you're so moved, and it's the kind of thing you do, please consider giving it a review or rating on Amazon. The folks at the Press tell me it's important...

OK, thanks for the info. I'll consider the nude finagled virgin of the book even tho I won't be able to take it out to a fancy restaurant without a jacket (I wonder if it'll get cold when I'm not reading it?). On the plus side, I don't have to worry that it's dressing better than me! What's next, a tie?

I’ve always heard it’s what’s inside that counts!

Yeah, but try telling that to the jacket—it’s out there auditioning for Cover of the Year!
